Yesterday we had Summer's birthday party here at the house. This year's theme was Happy Birthday Bad Kitty. Dennis, as usual, made an AMAZING cake.

The Bed Making Process at Our House
Another Sunny Day, Another Beach Trip
Two warm sunny days in a week!!! This time we stayed closer to home and hit Yorktown Beach. This is actually one of my favorite beaches in the area. It is actually the shoreline for the York River down in the historic part of Yorktown. Just across the street and down a bit is the cave that Cornwallis hid out in during the American Revolution. Double bonus for a closet history geek!
Virginia Beach Oceanfront and the Aquarium
We took advantage of our first reasonably warm day (in the 70's) to hit the Virginia Beach Oceanfront. The water was WAY too cold to get in, so we chilled out by one of the jetties and watched the surfers in their full winter gear. There was a decent swell that day, so there was lots to see. I must have had my camera on the wrong setting, because the pictures are WAY overexposed, but I managed to salvage a few of my faves.
February
We spent most of the month of February sick. Three cases of the flu, four ear infections, and two cases of bronchitis had the Hargis girls out of commission. Dennis, thanks to his superior genes (his words - LOL!) managed to stay well, but he had to hold down the fort while I tried not to die!
Flu, which led to ear infections and bronchitis. There is a similar picture of me, but it is not fit for human consumption.
At the third quarter Awards Ceremony, Paige was recognized for being on the honor roll again.
Happy Valentine's Day!

PPS Art Show and Book Fair
Since it is after midnight and I am getting kinda tired, my next post or two are going to be all about the pictures. My brain is just to sleep deprived to be witty. Darn Spring Forward!
Tonight was Summer's school's Art Show / Book Fair / Relay For Life extravaganza. Here are a few shots from the evening's festivities.
PPS's anti-bullying program is called Bucket Fillers and they learn all about how when you are kind to people you are filling their bucket and when you are unkind, you dip from both their bucket and your own. Their assignment was to design a book cover for a book about Bucket Filling. Unbeknownst to me, it was actually a contest and for the second grade, Summer WON! Yay Lulu! This was her winning design. Please note her spelling of the word bucket. LOL.
