Giddy up! Over the big hurdle and we are now in the single digits for Surf n Turfs left. The chow hall outdid themselves again with the meal last night. By overdid, what I mean is over done. Only 9 more left though, I pray. Yet another busy week with a small silver lining. I had the boss sign a letter for me to authorize me a little room by myself to sleep in. I will only have a short time left, but I plan on handing it over to my replacement.. At least he will benifit from the room during his time here and not have to deal with a smelly person. Yesterday was my Mom's Birthday, celebrating her Anniversary of her 39th Birthday again. Happy Birthday once again!
Well I have to get running and go manage a schedule. Real combat work you know. Thanks again for all of your support. This week get ready to celebrate the 4th of July by purchasing the best watermelon you can find, find a nice shady spot and enjoy! Please take care and I can't wait to see you all.

The Last of the Double Digits
Here we go! Down the home stretch! Ten more of those savory surf n turf nights left, with that so yummy steak that breaks your plastic knife and sticks in your teeth for days to come....mmm...mmmm...mmmmm. At least I had some warm food. Yet another long week has come to an end. Paige had her birthday party and turned 9 years old. I am so proud of them both, as well as my wife who has managed to pull off both parties with success.
I am moving out of my trailer because I have a room mate who just moved in and he stinks. I mean the burn your nose kind of stink. When you sleep in the same room as a guy with a loaded weapon it is much wiser to just move out rather than ask him to use soap and water. I am homeless right now but will have a fit room shortly.
Please say a prayer for a co-worker of mine. His daughter had surgery today, and she is young. I know how tough it can be to be away when your girl is having surgery and it is not easy. I was "crossing the pond" the day Summer had her tonsils removed.
Well not too many of these left thankfully, but for now go to bed early and smell no smells. You too Brent.

Hmmmm....
The whole drinking enough water plan is not going as well as I had hoped. Maybe I should blog about it every day for more accountability. You'll put up with me right? I definitely did not have enough today and I have the headache to prove it. Redoubling my efforts tomorrow. Breaking bad habits was a lot easier 10 years ago!

Happy Birthday To Paige!
Paige, being the good Texas girl that she is, wanted a good steak for her birthday dinner. Since Monday is kids night at Texas Roadhouse, off we went!

Holy Crow When Did That Happen?
Apparently, since Dennis has been gone I have found all the pounds that our dog, Diesel, has lost. This, of course, has been helped along generously by the fact that eating out is SO much easier than cooking and the whole plantar fasciitis issue that has kept me out of the gym since early May. I have decided to take the baby steps approach to taking these newly acquired curves off. My gut instinct was to order another Neera cleanse off the internet (which I still might do because I love love love the way I feel when it's over) and hit the gym Biggest Loser style. Those may take the weight off, but they are not going to change the bad habits that put it on in the first place. They say (whoever they are) that is you can do something for 2 weeks straight it will become habit. Therein lies my plan. Every 2 weeks I will address one of these bad habits and hopefully turn it around. I will also work on bettering my diet and getting some more exercise along the way. So, here we are. I am posting a ticker on here with a goal date of August 31st. I don't have a specific goal attached to that date yet, but it does fall right in the middle of the time frame that Den should be coming home.
Now to the habit setting portion of my plan:
I do not drink enough water. I know I don't. Since being properly hydrated is a cornerstone of any healthy lifestyle, this is the habit I am going to tackle first. I am going to get all my whining out of the way now. I don't like the way water tastes. That's really my only beef with it. Most of those drink mixins, though are full of either sugar (I may as well have Kool-Aid) or are loaded with artificial sweeteners, which I have cut almost completely out of our home.
After doing some research along the aisles of the commissary, I ran across these on the health food aisle.
These do contain sucralose, which I am not a fan of, but it is a very small amount. Plus I am getting 40% of my daily fiber requirements. The packets are designed for a 16.9 oz. bottle, but I mix one into my BPA free 32oz. Nalgene bottle. It gives the water just enough flavor to make it appealing to me. I also picked up some Gatorade G2 mixins for after workouts.

The Tooth Fairy Cometh ... Eventually
Summer lost her 2nd tooth tonight. She is so excited that she very carefully cleaned her tooth and then put it in her tooth box. However, instead of putting her toothbox into her tooth fairy pillow for the Tooth Fairy, she put it in her backpack so she can show her teacher and her friends at school tomorrow. There was no convincing her otherwise, so, sorry Tooth Fairy, you are going to have to wait one more day!
Congratulations!
Two of my favorite girls in the world graduated from high school this weekend. I couldn't be happier for them. Congrats Brit and Jordi!

Our Very Busy Day
Today was SO busy. We started out with uniform fittings, then the church picnic, Mackenzie's birthday party, Daisy Scouts award ceremony and party, and then Gabe and Matthew's birthday party. Whoo. I don't have any pics from the parties, but here are some from the rest of the day.
