Let's Go Fly A Kite

Last Saturday we took advantage of the freakishly warm weather we are having and drove down to the Outer Banks for the day. Our first stop was heaven on earth, aka Duck Donuts. There are no pictures because, sadly, they are closed for the season. After that, we headed to Kitty Hawk to the Wright Brothers museum.

The girlies completed the scavenger hunt and became Junior Rangers.

After we finished up at the museum, we headed over to Mama Kwan's, which has the best fish tacos I have ever tasted AND a really delicious black bean burger. Mmmmm.

After lunch we made a quick stop at Kitty Hawk Kites and then headed for the sand dunes at Jockey's Ridge, which, by the way, is now one of my favorite places on earth.

Paige couldn't resist this stretch of smooth sand!

There wasn't enough wind to really get the kite going, but the parachute men took off.

On the way back, we decided to play tourists, so we HAD to stop at the home of Grave Digger for a picture and the girlies and I couldn't pass up the giant pink adirondack chair.
